Indeed, job related stress is affecting many workers across the globe, and America is no exception - several research findings attest to this. One of the studies conducted by Northwestern National Life has that, one of four employees perceive their jobs as the leading stressors. Another study conducted by Saint Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company asserts profoundly that that â€Å"problems at work are more strongly associated with health complaints than any other life stressor, even financial or family problems† (Fried et al, 2009: 3-4). Yet, another published article by the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine indicates that the probability of injury and risk at the work place was likely common for employees working over or 12 hours by 37% (Fried et al, 2009: 4). Overall, stress results into reduced job performance and actualization, decreased creativity, and enhanced chances of crises and friction. Interestingly, this lead to more stress (Fried et al, 2009: 3-4). It then follows that stress management techniques such as yoga, mediation, breath exercise and counseling play an instrumental role to human-health. Undeniably, stress should thus not be ignored at the work place because ignoring stress signals result into fatigue and sometimes harm. Simply defined, tress management refers to the lessons that aid in the appreciation that stress is part and parcel of life everyday. It focuses on what can be done to manage and control stress.
